London Generator Flue / Exhaust Extension

GRUN ENGINEERING LIMITED delivered a turnkey generator flue extension for a civic building in London. The scope included the design, supply and installation of a high-temperature twin-wall system, connecting to the generator silencer and completing a secure vertical run with a bespoke support solution.

The generator was housed within a 40-foot container cabin, which made access and working space tight. We provided our own access equipment and fabricated a custom Unistrut support frame fixed back to the container structure, finished with protective end caps for a clean, safe install. The flue measured 500mm internal diameter (550mm OD) and was installed to meet the required performance and compliance standards.

Nathan Lawley project managed the works from order through to completion, keeping the client updated with regular progress reports throughout. We met the scheduled dates and achieved practical completion on 10 February 2026. A full sign-off pack was issued on handover, including the Certificate of Conformity, smoke test, completion report, engineers’ on-site report and operating manual. The client was pleased with the result, and the works were delivered efficiently with minimal disruption.
