PC: Commercial boiler flue system installation – London education site


GRUN ENGINEERING LIMITED designed, supplied, and installed a complete commercial boiler flue system for an education site in Walthamstow, London, connecting 8 gas boilers (two banks of four).


Scope


  • Full survey, design, supply and installation of the boiler flue system

  • Configuration included external riser, wall penetrations, and a header/manifold arrangement

  • System build used DWECO Twin Wall and EWECO Single Wall flue


Challenges and delivery


The flue route had height and access restrictions, and the system needed to avoid clashes with existing services, pipework, and valve handles.


We coordinated closely with site stakeholders to finalise a workable route, designed bespoke external supports, and completed the installation in 5 days on site.


Safety and handover


During MEWP works, the area was cordoned off to protect site users.

Handover included smoke test certificate, certificate of conformity, as-built GA drawing, O&M manual, and a maintenance proposal.
